Verifying
TEST COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY.
The automated test of our battery backup systems has completed. We will leave this maintenance window open for a while while the batteries recharge, this will take a few hours.

During this time, any interruptions to our electrical supply will cause a faster shutdown of the servers, we are closely monitoring our systems as the battery levels return to normal.

In progress
This automatic test has started, the UPS will now perform a run-down test.

Update
This test is still going ahead as planned at 16:00, our current monitoring indicates a 6 minute run-time. Again, providing the test is successful this operation will have zero effect on customers.

Update
UPDATE: Due to the extra heat from the ongoing heat wave, our test will be cut shorter as the server equipment uses more electricity running the internal fans. The test will be going ahead as planned.

Scheduled
On the 10th of August we will be performing a test & recalibration of our uninterruptable power supplies, this is yearly test that ensures the batteries are ready to take over in the event of a power cut.

During the test, there is a very small chance that power will be interrupted to our services - which would cause access to Triarom Desktop Services, Triarom Computers Support, Triarom Hosted UniFi and Exchange to be lost while we recover the systems.

Additionally, following the test the battery state-of-change on our UPS' will be low, this means, that in the unlikely event of a power cut following the test, our usual recovery time may be longer. This will remain the case for around 6 hours following the test, while our batteries are recharged. We will abort the test if there'sa any indication of a possible power cut (such as poor weather.)

It's extremely unlikely that there will be any effect on our end users during this maintenance window, this test is simply to ensure the health of our battery backup systems is good enough to keep the systems on during a power outage, should one occur.

If you have any questions or concerns about this maintenance window, please don't hesitate to contact us.
